This Winemaker Cuvée is a selection of the best 5 barrels in the cellar. 100% Pommard clone from older vines in the Dundee Hills, Ribbon Ridge and Eola-Emity Hills AVAs. The grapes were fermented with native yeasts, partial whole cluster and minimal intervention. The wine was aged for eighteen months in French oak and for six months in bottle prior to release. The finished wine has bright red fruit flavors, floral aromatics and lighter weight. It will pair well with salmon, lean meats and mushrooms. Drink now or cellar for ten years.
"Limpid ruby-red. Highly perfumed aromas of fresh red and blue fruits, exotic spices and candied flowers, along with a smoky mineral flourish in the background. Densely packed and alluringly sweet, showing a bright mineral core to the sappy, spice-laced raspberry, boysenberry and floral pastille flavors. Smooth, well-judged tannins build slowly and harmonize with the juicy fruit on a persistent, floral-driven finish. 50% whole clusters and all use oak" (93pts, Vinous, August 2020)
